Maihan Saeedi served as the Director General of the First Political Directorate of the Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan overseeing South Asia, South East Asia, and the Far-east region. Before that, he was the Representative of Afghanistan to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) Secretariat in Kathmandu, Nepal.

From 2014 to 2016, he was the Policy Officer for the Office of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan.
Maihan Saeedi is the Director of Regional Engagement at Afghanistan House. He previously served as the Director General of the First Political Directorate of the Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan overseeing South Asia, South East Asia, and the Far-east region.
Before that, he was the Representative of Afghanistan to the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Organization (SAARC) Secretariat in Kathmandu, Nepal.
From 2014 to 2016, he was the Policy Officer for the Office of the Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan.
He has served as Director Regional Cooperation Department of the Afghan Institute of Strategic Studies (AISS), a Kabul-based think-tank, from 2013 to 2014, where he co-wrote a policy paper on the Heart of Asia/Istanbul Process Titled: (The Heart of Asia Process at a Juncture: An Analysis of Impediments to Further Progress).
