Sayed A. W. Qatali served as the Governor of Herat province, Mayor of Herat city and was elected Speaker of the Herat Provincial Council. He has also been the Director General of the Office of Administrative Affairs and the Political Deputy of Afghanistan’s National Security council.

Wahid is the director of the Board of Advisors of Afghanistan House.

Before joining Afghanistan House, Wahid served as the Governor of Herat province, Mayor of Herat city and was elected Speaker of the Herat Provincial Council. Wahid studied arts at Herat University. Wahid was a prominent activist in Afghanistan’s cultural, media, and governance fields for over two decades. He founded and authored Sefer newspaper, Durbin magazine, Asr T.V., and Herat Cinema House. He led cultural initiatives to connect Afghanistan with other international communities, including establishing the Herat Sister City Committee, West Zone Cinema Union, and the Heray Film Festival.
